Prerequisite/Recommendations: Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors who have
successfully completed English 1.
Featuring a vocabulary workbook, this course offers intensive vocabulary study
for students who want to increase their word power. In addition to that
objective, the other major objective is to enhance awareness of people's
vocabulary use and to develop recognition of SAT/ACT-type words.
Students will examine techniques for vocabulary building, and then study from
major word lists. The course also includes study of Greek and Latin roots and
word games. Paragraphs and essays give students additional application
practice.
