Sheridan
County School District #1 implemented a 4-day week school schedule in
1983. The goal of the alternative schedule was to enhance the quality
of education for students by intensifying efforts district-wide on a
regular basis, in the areas of curriculum development and staff development.
Elementary
school hours are 8:00 to 3:50, middle school and high school hours are
basically from 8:00 to 4:00, although there are slight variations of
that at some schools. The school year for the district is 148 days.
